[Update: OnePlus 8 too] OxygenOS 10.5.10 rolling out now for EU OnePlus 8 Pro w/ June patch, Photochrom tweaks

OxygenOS 10.5.10 is also rolling out for OnePlus in some flavors.  For those in India, it will come as OxygenOS 10.5.9, in the European Union it is 10.5.8.  There have also been some small changes depending on the region.

The update was confirmed on the official OnePlus forum - with the OnePlus 8 Pro update being confirmed as well.  It brings the June patch, plus a lot of tweaks to the flagship OnePlus device we saw yesterday.  In all honesty, this is practically the same update but a tweak without a color filter camera.

According to reports on Reddit, the update is now rolling out across Europe.  With OnePlus set to unveil the OnePlus Nord in the coming weeks, it's a bit later than expected but still welcoming everyone.

The problem with the photochrome filter has now been solved, with some thin plastic and clothing being able to see through - but some of you may not be happy.  According to some excavations by people at XDA, the actual adjustment of this filter means that instead of using a color filter camera, it looks like the OxygenOS 10.5.10 port above the ultra-wide-angle lens.  This means that the color filter lens is effectively disabled with this update.

You will get some other new additions including optimized power consumption, which should extend your overall battery life.  There are also other adaptations for battery charging, high-temperature warnings, plus video tweaks for Netflix, and Amazon Prime HD video playback.

The camera has also improved some stability, which should lead to an expected improvement in the overall shooting experience.  You can see the full OxygenOS 10.5.10 update changelog below:

This is probably not the solution many people were expecting with color filter lenses, as it certainly provides less impressive results.  The quality dip is quite substantial, although it is not a filter that was particularly impressive, to begin with.

For those wishing to update their device to OxygenOS 10.5.10 OTA, you should roll out the update in the coming days.  If you are impatient, you can always catch it through Oxygen Updater.  With that said, if you are a fan of the small X-ray capabilities of the photochrome filter, we recommend you clarify about this update package.
